What is the best job management app for tradies? The honest answer is "the one that fits how your business works and what you can afford", and that differs between a sole trader and a twenty-person crew. This guide compares seven apps Australian tradies shortlist most often: who each one suits, what it costs to start, and what it is known for, with every price taken from the vendor's own pricing page as at 27 October 2026.

We make BizzMate, so weigh that BizzMate is one of the apps below, and this page is published by us. We have kept the other entries to what each vendor says on its own site, and listed what BizzMate doesn't do. Check any app you are serious about with its free trial before you decide.

Prices change and promotions come and go, so open each vendor's pricing page before you compare. Where a page didn't say whether GST is included, we have left it out rather than guess.

Each app in a paragraph

BizzMate

BizzMate's AI reads enquiries from your Gmail, Outlook or IMAP mailbox, Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp and turns them into job cards, with the urgent ones flagged. Quotes and invoices show GST on its own line, an accepted quote converts to an invoice, and customers can accept, decline or ask for changes online. There is a schedule, a dispatch map, route ordering, recurring jobs and a phone view for the crew with checklists, photos and customer signature. Prices are per business, not per user. The Free plan is a job board for one person (30 jobs a month, no quotes or invoices); Starter at $19 adds quotes, invoices and a mailbox; Crew at $39 adds unlimited users and Xero. What it doesn't do: it connects to Xero only (not MYOB or QuickBooks), doesn't take card payments on an invoice, and doesn't answer phone calls. It is also newer than the others here.

ServiceM8

ServiceM8 charges per business with unlimited users on paid plans, and its plans are sized by jobs per month: the Free plan gives one user 30 jobs a month, Starter gives 50, and the plans run up to Premium Plus at $349. It lists iPhone and Android apps, online bookings, card payments and sync with Xero, QuickBooks Online and MYOB, plus AI helpers for drafting messages and quote descriptions.

Tradify

Tradify is priced per user: Lite $48, Pro $52 and Plus $62 a month, ex GST. Pro adds timesheets, and Plus adds its AI tools. It integrates with Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks Online, customers can accept quotes online from the email, and there are apps for iPhone, iPad and Android.

Fergus

Fergus lists Essentials from $53 a month and Professional from $77, with monthly billing and no lock-in. Even Essentials includes quoting, timesheets, recurring jobs, a mobile app and Xero, QuickBooks or MYOB; Professional adds purchase orders, checklists, forms, SWMS and fuller reporting. Fergus also advertises AI assistants you can ask about your jobs and numbers.

AroFlo

AroFlo starts at AUD $80 per user a month with a three-user minimum, and the per-user rate falls as you add users. It describes itself as built for anything from sole traders to operations with 40-plus technicians, and its standard features include inventory and stock control, quoting, scheduling, timesheets and Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks integration, with AI features alongside.

simPRO

simPRO doesn't publish prices; you request a quote. Its base plan covers quoting and estimating, scheduling, real-time inventory and purchasing, invoicing and reporting, and it connects to Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks and Sage. It is aimed at bigger and more complex operations, including project and maintenance work.

Jobber

Jobber's pricing page showed us US dollar prices only: Core at US$49 a month for one user on monthly billing, with higher plans adding users, automation and an AI receptionist. It syncs with QuickBooks Online and Xero and advertises online booking and a client hub. Check its Australian pricing before comparing it with the others.

What is the cheapest job management software in Australia?

It depends on your team size, because some apps charge per user and some per business. Work it out for yourself:

  • Per-user apps: monthly cost = price per user × the number of people who need a login.
  • Per-business apps: monthly cost = the plan price, but check the job or user limit for the plan you would actually need.
  • Then add GST if the price is shown ex GST, and add any add-ons you would really use, such as SMS or card payment fees.

A sole trader and a crew of eight can get opposite answers from the same price list.

Which is the best invoice app for tradies?

Every app here makes quotes and invoices. For invoicing, the questions that separate them are: does it show GST correctly and say "Tax invoice" (see what the ATO expects on a tax invoice), does it connect to the accounting software you already use, and can customers pay by card from the invoice? If MYOB is your ledger, or card payments on the invoice matter to you, that narrows the list fast.

How to choose

Write down the three things that went wrong in your worst week, then trial two apps against those three things. Our job management software checklist has eight questions to ask, and going paperless covers the order to add the rest of your technology. If BizzMate looks like a fit, you can start a free trial; if another app fits better, that is the one to choose.
